Veterinary Checking Area

The DIEC is the only endurance venue in the world that has an exclusive area named Pulse Line comprised of 20 lanes to check only the pulse rate. This is in addition to the Vet Check area where another 25 lanes are provided to enable faster checking of the horses.

Participating horses have to be microchipped and monitored electronically. The electronic heart rate monitor and display system is in place to determine the heart rate of horses as per set protocol.

Modern electronic systems are in place to track the horse on the loops and also to record the time, heart rate, and average speed. Smart cards will be used to control the movement of horses inside the vet gate and to ensure accuracy in restarts, presentation for a vet check, and re-presentations.

Further veterinary care

Further veterinary care can be provided if necessary at the Dubai Equine Hospital, a leading veterinary facility. Isolated state-of-the-art quarantine stables are in place at DIEC to ensure the wellness of horses.

Practice areas

Training areas are separated according to the geographic zones and separate loops are earmarked for this purpose.
